That Guy

I am that guy. And that’s not a self-affirmation. I am, actually, that guy. Go tune into my work, look me straight in the eyes, and tell me I’m not that guy. You can’t, right? Now, I’m not laying ultimate claim on that title. There are many of those people out there, and I had this thought, now that I know how fucking great it feels to be one of them, that maybe you should go ahead do the same? Granted that you haven’t already made your claim. Have you considered that?

The most essential step is to look yourself in the mirror. Look yourself in the eyes and deep into those beautiful irises you got. They speak of an even more beautiful soul. It’s all in the eyes. Just let it shine through. You could make yourself cry if you wanted too. Beauty can do that to us. So feel free to cry. I’ve cried for myself a good handful of times, and it’s what you do in a loving relationship. It’s all happy tears. Affectionate love between you and yourself. Whatever feeling is pouring over you as you look yourself in the eyes, embrace it. Just let it out. Once all the feelings are released, a smirk should start to take shape across your cute little face. You are cute. Yeah, you’re feeling it now. That’s it. You got that girl in you. You got that guy in you. Keep rocking it.

One of my close friends once gave me a peptalk outside a bar when I was going through it with a little low self-esteem. He assured me with fiery speech, heartfelt conviction and big, uncoordinated hand gestures, that I am that guy. That we are both those guys. What a friend, by the way. And I assure you, he is that guy. So now, it’s not only a flirty agreement between you and your mirror. That agreement has extended. We are gonna go ahead and shake hands on that, thank you very much. And with firmly applied pressure, yes indeed. If somebody tells that you’ve got it, whatever condition they may be in, you better believe it. Cause they are right. If nobody tells you you got it, you still fucking got it. Let that self-esteem blow through the roof, and let your confidence bounce off it. You can have too much confidence, but you can never have too much self-esteem. It needs to be spilling all over your shirt, and you are not going to clean it up. Stink of self-esteem. It smells much better than success, anyways. It’s not a man’s world, or a woman’s world, or anyone else’s world. It’s your world. Run it.
